IPR

Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar

Institute for Plasma Research is an autonomous Physics research institute, involved in research in various aspects of plasma science including basic plasma physics, research on magnetically confined hot plasmas, plasma technologies for industrial applications, and development of technologies required for nuclear fusion.

IPR is internationally recognized for its contributions to fundamental and applied research in plasma physics and associated technologies. The research areas of IPR can be broadly categorized into three activities: studies on high temperature magnetically confined plasmas; basic experiments in plasma physics including free electron laser, and dusty plasmas; and other nonlinear phenomena and Industrial plasma processing and applications.
